Milestone Description
Analysis, Design, and Development
Kick-off meeting with CEI representative Discuss project scope and roles of authors, program leads, and CEI staff. Discuss IP03 policy. Review existing course materials and discuss course goals and outline. Determine development timeline and constraints.
Course outline draft Course goals / objectives. Assessment plan. Student profile. Identify instructional materials & technology needs. Identify copyright concerns.
Example module/lesson Develop content (presentations, courseware, text, readings, video, audio, simulations….). Draft directions, transitions, and instructor communications. Create media. Identify assessments. CEI review of module prototype.
First half of course content development Draft content using the example module/less as a guide for remaining course content.
All remaining content development All content developed in Canvas and ready for QA review.
CEI quality assurance review CEI checks course structure, media, links, and accessibility
Implementation
Initial course offering Instructor collects feedback from students and documents any areas of the course that could be improved before the next offering.
Assessment
Quality Matters review Conducted by a CEI staff or a PSU QM review team. Course author works with CEI on any revisions necessary in earning a passing QM score.
