Course Assessment Process

The assessment process includes the implementation and evaluation of the course. While the course is offered, the instructor collects feedback from students and identifies any aspects of the course that did not go according to plan. The evaluation takes place in the semester immediately following the initial offering of the course. Minor adjustments to the course are made based on feedback from phase two and a Quality Matters review is conducted by CEI or a Penn State Quality Matters review team. The Quality Matters review follows a continuous improvement process and some modifications may need to be made to a course in order to receive a passing score. All online and hybrid courses are expected to pass a Quality Matters review before development is considered to be complete.
