Funding is available for faculty authoring online/hybrid courses that are developed or revised in collaboration with CEI to meet Penn State quality standards. Consideration for funding is based on the documentation provided in the course development/revision proposal and a course assessment conducted by CEI. The availability and amount of funding are dependent on a number of factors including:
- The impact the course has on the department/program at Penn State Behrend and the University
- The current budget for the College
- The level of effort required to develop/revise the course
Payments are typically distributed at four points in the development/revision process.

| 2 | Completion of course development. | 20% |
| 3 | Meeting the course development deadline. At least one week prior to the start of the semester, all content must be complete. Author will not receive this portion of the total payment if development must continue during the initial offering. | 40% |
| 4 | Completion of a Quality Matters course review with a passing score. | 20% |
