In this month’s podcast recommendation, we are sharing a podcast from the Teaching Online Podcast. The hosts of the podcast are Dr. Thomas Cavanagh and Dr. Kelvin Thompson, who work for the University of Central Florida. Their podcast focuses on online and blended learning in higher education.

The episode we recommend for this month is Episode 123: Hybridity Predicted and More in CHLOE 7. In this episode, the hosts discuss the latest edition of the annual report from Quality Matters called the Changing Landscape of Online Education (CHLOE). You can directly access the report on the QM website. This annual report focuses on the current state of online learning and offers insights into the future developments and trends. In the podcast, the hosts highlight the projected changes toward more demand for hybrid learning. They also discuss the increased use of instructional designers and quality assurance processes for online courses now that we have moved past the emergency operations brought on by COVID-19. They offer more thoughts on other aspects of the report, so we recommend this podcast as well as reading the CHLOE report for those interested in the potential future evolution of online learning.
